Title: Life Interrupted
Artist: Heather Thompson, Blue Phoenix Art
Size: 36 x 48
Style: Acrylic on Stretched Canvas
Description: One of Heather's early paintings from 2011, this one of a kind piece was painted with both hands, scratching and flicking a cacophony of colors onto the white canvas. Layer upon layer she continued until the urge arose to scrape a swath of blue through the center. At that moment, the painting was complete and Heather realized it symbolized the moment that life forever changed. Original Art. Only one available.

Heather Thompson is a neurodivergent artist with Blue Phoenix Art. In the wake of a life changing, and ultimately life affirming, traumatic brain injury in 2011, she suddenly developed the ability to paint. Called Acquired Savantism with Synesthesia by the worldwide expert Dr. Darold Treffert, Heather is one of a handful of people in the world who have experienced this neurological phenomenon.
She is entirely self-taught, following only intuition as her guide. She paints in abstract acrylics, along with digital painting, mixed media, drawing, encaustics and much more.
