Title: "Dreaming Tree".

Artist: Ekaterina Santiago

Description: Original. This piece was inspired by the old honey linden tree right next to my grandparents house back in Russia. It was a well right under it where whole street was coming to to get amazing drinking water for their homes. I remember playing around this tree when I was little. We used to hide in its shade in summer days resting from running around. It was a spot where everyone stopped, chatted and exchanged the news of that tiny town. I picked the warmer shades of brown and greens to create a feeling of tradition, age, memories and everlasting peace. I customized few of my brushes to achieve this type of strokes, blended but still defined. This artwork hold a lot of wonderful childhood memories, where there were no worries, no internet or phones. We were playing around this linden tree, creating our own little games and just being happy in a moment. Only one available.

  • My name is Ekaterina Santiago. I was born and raised in small Russian town in the countryside. I started drawing when I was around 5 years old, when I discovered watercolors and color pencils. Right now I mainly work with acrylic and oil paint, as well as charcoal. Nature has always been one of my biggest inspirations. Another big influence is a journey of self-growth, which certainly gets translated into my works. I love using colors to help me to tell my stories. I also often customize my brushes to create different types of strokes and effects. Art for me is a way to connect with people around me and find relations through painting.
