Title: "African Dream".
Artist: Ekaterina Santiago
Description: Original. This piece was inspired by a friend of mine from South Africa. He used to tell me stories about his country, how beautiful and diverse it is. And once on a particularly cold Seattle winter day, I painted this piece full of heat and sun. You can see the very warm and slightly gradient background with a low sun right before the sunset and a black silhouette of the tree in the foreground.
I wanted to create a feeling of peace in nature, the kind you feel right before sunset. It is the time of the day when everything calms down after a hot day, and all you have is heat radiating from the earth and gorgeous sunset colors. The meaning of this piece to me is this warm and calm feeling of peace. This tree represents each of us, spectating sunset, letting go whatever happened in the day and absorbing last rays of sun and heat, energizing you.
Size: 12x12 inch
Style: Acrylic on stretched canvas. Finished with protective clear matte coat. Unframed, but No framing needed. Ready to hang. It has a wire and a hook in the back. Only one is available.

My name is Ekaterina Santiago. I was born and raised in small Russian town in the countryside. I started drawing when I was around 5 years old, when I discovered watercolors and color pencils. Right now I mainly work with acrylic and oil paint, as well as charcoal. Nature has always been one of my biggest inspirations. Another big influence is a journey of self-growth, which certainly gets translated into my works. I love using colors to help me to tell my stories. I also often customize my brushes to create different types of strokes and effects. Art for me is a way to connect with people around me and find relations through painting.
