We are honored to announce our newest sponsored artist and US Navy Veteran Sean M. Connolly.
Sean M. Connolly, a US Navy Veteran, is a traditional leather crafter who lives and works in Olympia, Washington.
His unique free spirited community made an indelible impression on his innate creative talent.
From his cultural surroundings, he created a new art form using upcycled garment leather.
He cuts up leather jackets, purses, shoes, couches etc into 3/16 inch circles then, with tweezers, he glues down each circle to “paint” with. With his eclectic approach, he likes to push and explore the contemporary boundaries as the artist explains, “I became disenchanted with the mass production of leather goods, and wanted to create leather art pieces that would stun and inspire.”
Connolly is self taught and designs all his pieces from either places he has been or emotional experiences.
He possesses a strong sense of artistry and forward-thinking that is consistently displayed across all art pieces and is capable of communicating with clients regarding specifications for customized art pieces.
Sean will be displaying his work at Savoir Fair in Gray Sky Gallery on Friday, October 25, 2019. Doors open at 6 PM and tickets are now available on eventbrite.com or directly below.
